BoundaryThe boundary for the LI North Shore Heritage Area is as follows: The heritage area within the counties of Nassau and Suffolk beginning at the point where state route twenty-five intersects the border between Queens and Nassau counties, then south to include the municipal boundaries of the Incorporated Village of Floral Park, then north to route twenty five, then east along said route twenty-five to the intersection of route four hundred ninety-five, then east along route four hundred ninety-five until said route crosses the municipal boundary of the Town of Riverhead in the Peconic River, then east along the municipal boundary of the Town of Riverhead to Flanders Bay, then east along the municipal boundary of the Town of Riverhead through Flanders Bay and Great Peconic Bay where it meets the boundary of the Town of Southold, then east along the southern boundary of the Town of Southold to the eastern terminus of the Plum Island Lighthouse, then north to the border of the states of New York and Connecticut, then west along said state border to the border between Nassau and Westchester counties, continuing to the southwest to the border between Queens and Nassau counties and then southeast to the point of origin.
