The Long Island North Shore Heritage Area Planning Commission submitted the Long Island North Shore Heritage Area Management Plan to the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation in October 2006 and it was approved on December 8, 2006. 

 Long Island North Shore Heritage Area, Inc. (LINSHA, Inc.), the non-profit management agency for this New York State Heritage Area, is pleased to announce its official incorporation by the New York State Department of State on January 22, 2008.
